SLIPPERY SLOPE

Well quite an end to the week, turn on the news and all you see is CNN, MSNBC and the other major news shows slobbering over President Obama, newest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. I am sorry what a joke!!! The nomination deadline for this year was February 1st. He had just been inaugurated, what had he done in the first two weeks of his presidency to deserve this award? How can anyone take Nobel Prizes seriously after this. I wonder if I could get one next year? He should decline it!!

Let’s see what has he done in nine months, increased the debt to an unmanageable amount, trying to push terrible version of Health Care through, assigning Czars to run the country with no congressional vetting or over site, letting Iran pursue the bomb, hoping to talk them out of it while giving them time to continue its development. He has been touring around the world apologizing to everyone how terrible the USA is, that we are not a Christian Nation, bowing to Saudi King, pushing the Cap & Trade bill that will raise energy costs to all Americans. I could go on and on!

Today, it is hard to find but Thursday the Congress voted on the Military Funding bill for 2010, which I would normally think was great, but they attached the Hate Crime Bill to it! So they are sneaking it in! Rep Mica did not vote for it. That tells you the majority of the country is against it, or else they could vote on it by itself. The Democrats continue to push a far left radical agenda!!!! Hate Crime bills are nothing but a way to try to protect and push radical sexually oriented agendas. We have plenty of laws to punish those who commit crimes. Take the Matthew Shepherd case which they rely on as proof there needs to be Hate Crime Bill. A person killed Matthew Shepherd for being homosexual, he was caught, tried and convicted of felony murder. He received 2 life sentences. So it looks like the system worked to me. With the knowledge of possible life sentence or execution, that did not stop the man who killed Matthew, so is one more felony law going to change things, I think not. The Hate Crime bills are another way to over come the 1st amendment and limit any criticism of life styles etc. They will not include pastors, clergy etc in these bills, does that tell you anything? We need to keep pounding our elected officials not to vote for this bill!! I know they received over 700,000 letters telling them not to, are they listening, no, we need to throw the bums out!!!!!

Watch out on the Health Care bill coming out. I see today that by 2019 25 million will not be insured, this is out by the CBO, when Reid gets through combining the two bills, and Polosi gets involved, we will be back were we where, the start of one payer health care run by the government, for the government. The CBO says they cannot really say their cost estimates are accurate because what the Senate Finance Committee is voting on is not legislative language, just broad terms, so we really do not have a bill coming out of the committee. They are not looking at real reform, we need TORT reform, ability to buy insurance in any state, keep out the illegal aliens and do not give them amnesty, no pre-existing conditions and no caps on care.

In the last 9 months we are seeing the take over of our country, banks bailed out and bought by the government, car makers bought and owned by the government, CEO forced to resign by the president, the proposed health care take over, Cap and Trade poised for a vote, that would raise our energy costs all based on the Global Warming myth, the White House playing Santa making a list but not of good children, but those who email or post anything negative about the president and his policies and wanting the people to rat on them. I suggest, it appears that we are headed down a slippery slope, watch out before it is too late to put the brakes on, we are losing our liberties, rights, think about it.

SHROUD OF TURIN

The Shroud of Turin has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. It has been controversial for many years. If you are not familiar with it, you should Google it and read about it. A quick summary, it is believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus. It appears to be a negative image on a cloth showing the front and back of a man, with injuries and blood spots similar to what Jesus would have had being crucified. Experts have studied the image and it is also a three dimensional image. It would be pristine if it had not been in a church fire many years ago. There was some damage to the shroud then and patches were applied to the cloth and it has some burn marks.

Part of the mystery is that the image is a negative one, like you get when you take a picture with film, the film is a negative image. So if you look at the shroud as that you can easily see the image. The thought is that while Jesus was in the tomb and rose from the dead, his image was burned or applied to the cloth.

Now some Italian scientist has claimed he has found a way to reproduce the shroud. He put a cloth over a volunteer, rubbed some substance on the cloth and baked it. Now, if this is a fake which many others believe it is, this was created back in the 13th or so century. They have done carbon dating on the cloth, supposedly dating it to the 13th, 14th century. I have read that carbon dating is not exact and depending on who performs it can give a wide variety of results. Now, if this is fake, if there was a way to do this back then, would not there be other shrouds of famous people like Popes, or Kings? Would there have been one person or a small group that said, let’s make a shroud in the likeness of Jesus and claim it is his burial cloth. How long would it have taken to do back then what this scientist claims he has done? Would you really be able to keep it a secret back then?

I am not sure if the shroud is real, I think there should be more tests. It is certainly very unique and unusual. The keepers of the shroud are very protective of the shroud and do not want it damaged for testing. It seems like scientists work more to prove biblical things wrong than prove them right. The headlines the news media are putting out all but makes one think this is proving the shroud is fake, that it is a done deal. Many people only read the headlines so they will get the wrong impression.

Is the shroud real? No one may really know until you can ask the maker someday in heaven, then again, will it really matter when you either stand before Jesus and worship him as your savior and you know you will spend eternity there or after getting judgment from God find yourself in fire and brimstone?

Greetings everyone, my blood is starting to boil! I cannot believe what is going on back in our country. McClatchy Newspaper is reporting that the Obama Administration is disapproving money for 26 elderly members of the World War II-era Alaska Territorial Guard. These people served during WWII without pay or benefits guarding our nation in the waters around Alaska. The Senate is considering a military spending bill that would keep the payments going to these patriots. What is the Obama Administration thinking? How can he say he is so supportive of the military personnel and do this. This is not even a drop in the bucket for the military budget, they blow more money in 5 seconds than these patriots will ever get! Please write your senators and tell them to make sure these patriot’s pensions are included in the military spending bill.
As every year there will be a Capital Christmas tree but guess what, this year the the U.S. Forest Service has banned the name of Jesus from decorations being assembled by children in Arizona for a blue spruce from the state that will become the Capitol Christmas Tree this year. How do you have a Christmas tree that cannot have a Christian theme? Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, I realize it is probably not the exact date he was born, we will probably never know that date, but that is when we celebrate his birth. This is a nation founded on Christian morals, values, principles and faith, we have many people from other countries and religions, but that is who the U.S.A. is, and we do not need to apologize to anyone for that or take our history and heritage out of the country.

There is a woman from Guam, she was living with a Soldier, is pregnant with his child, he was deployed, they married while he was deployed, a wedding by internet, so they had a ceremony and paperwork done, but have not been together since the wedding, not consummated. He was killed in the line of duty, since the wedding was not consummated, she is carrying his child, she will be denied to stay in the US and will be deported. Now how stupid is this, there are illegal aliens in this country, working, getting American citizen benefits, and the administration does not want them bothered, or sent home and here is a couple trying to make a life, he gives his life for his country and since they did not consummate their marriage she gets deported. If they are going to deport her, following the law, then send all these illegal aliens home!!!!!!!

Rep Wilson stated out loud during the President’s speech he lied, I don’t think that was the best thing to do. But it is turning out to be true. There are reports in the news that the Senate has voted down amendments to the Health Care Bill to require people to get coverage to show picture ID, specific language to keep federal funds from paying for abortion. So it is clear, the Democrats do not want anything in the bill that will prevent creative illegal aliens from getting health care. There are Democrats that say illegal aliens should be able to buy health care, if they buy federally subsidized health care that is still tax dollars paying for their care. Also, how can you require everyone to buy health insurance? President Obama compared it to care insurance, that if you own and drive a car you are required to buy car insurance, that sounds fine at first, but then when you realize, you do not have to own a car, not everyone owns a car, and if you do not own a car, you do not have to buy car insurance. The government wants to require everyone to purchase health insurance, is this constitutional? Some are saying no. Think about it. And I am not even starting about how much the president has been on TV, running around the country and world, I bet if someone did a study, he has been out of DC more than he has been in!
