255 VERY FORTUNATE PEOPLE

There are about 255 or so very fortunate people today, since the Muslim Terrorist’s detonator malfunctioned and only burned instead of blowing up and airliner from Amsterdam. And being over the Northeastern part of the US which is highly populated, had the airliner gone down, may have killed and injured many more on the ground.

Of course our Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano claimed the system worked, and then backtracked the next day stating it did not. She used the Democratic theme of 2009, blamed it on Bush policies, haven’t they had almost a year to make changes? She also stated there is no sign of a wide spread plot. No, only from countries in the Middle East and Europe!

New security measures are being placed to try to make it harder to assemble and use a bomb in the last hour of an international flight. So they will do it before the last hour of the flight. They have a few of the full body x-ray machines, and the whole body sniffers, not enough for all airports. We may be required to travel in bathing suits to cut down on hiding explosives :)

Christmas and Easter are the two most attended days of the year in churches. Many people who do not regularly attend church do for these two holidays. It is reported our president and his family, vacationing in Hawaii, did not attend any church services Christmas Eve or Christmas day.

Couple facts I would like to point out, read the above article. Earlier this year he stated the US is not a Christian Nation. He did state the failed airliner bombing Christmas day was a terrorist attack, has he said anything like that about the Ft. Hood shooter?

2010 will be a very interesting year. We have to battle the flawed healthcare bill, cap and trade, get the congress to create jobs without throwing our tax dollars at it, and above all stop the crazy spending of billions if not trillions of dollars we do not have! By the way, one of the sweetheart deals being reported in the healthcare bill, big payments to Blue Cross &Blue Shield of Michigan who just happens to cover all the union auto workers present, past and retired.

Yes we need healthcare reform, just not the trillion dollar mess that is proposed. We need to be nice to our planet, just not at the extreme levels and taxing the White House and Democrats are proposing, it is reported we are already halfway to meeting the KATO guidelines on the environment without any regulation. We need job creation, but in the private sector, since the first of the year the only jobs created have been in the government, we do not need more government! We need to decrease government, balance the federal budget and quite trying to be the nanny of everyone! Our constitution states; that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It does not guarantee us happiness and success. We are not guaranteed free healthcare, free housing, free food, and free I-phones.

The churches use to take care of charity and did a fine job, the government has taken that over since the creation of entitlements over years and do not do a good job of it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Merry Christmas everyone. Just two days away from celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the second Christmas for me in sunny Iraq. In many ways it is a lot like Christmas in Florida, lots of sand, high Friday 69 and sunny. The CSH (Combat Support Hospital) is looking pretty festive. Several Christmas trees are up, one is even a real tree, not sure how it got here. We had a CSH wide gathering tonight, coffee, hot chocolate, gifts, singing Christmas carols. We had a nice time. Everyone’s spirits seem high.

The DFAC (dining hall) has a couple Christmas trees up, lots of streamers, bells etc. There are some special programs throughout COB Speicher.
I am looking forward to spending some time with Robyn and the girls on Skype Christmas Night. Have to wait for RaDonna to get off work. Should be a good time together.

Looks like Kansas will have a white Christmas!! I am jealous!!

A VERY SAD DAY IN MUDVILLE

Yes it is a very sad day in Mudville! Early this morning the 58 Democrats and 2 Independent Senators passed the Healthcare Bill making its passing the Senate 99.9% sure. Then it will go to the House for merging it with their bill.

Four Senators from Nebraska, Louisiana, Vermont, and Massachusetts received large payments to their States for their votes; we are talking hundreds of millions of dollars. Now the money they got pays their state’s share of increased Medicaid costs that this bill will impose on them three years down the road, the other states will pay increased cost of Medicaid.

Now President Obama just spoke on TV and states how much money this is going to save our nation. How many other concessions are in this bill? This bill is over 2000 pages, and so is the House bill. Can they really look us straight in the face and say they need this size of bill just to give insurance portability over state lines, cut pre-existing conditions, I don’t think so.

How many people reading this can say they have gone to any government agency and gotten good, timely, friendly service. I doubt many. Usually they have a non-caring attitude, hide behind rules and policies and act like we are here to serve them. As the government gets more involved in healthcare do we expect their ways to change, NO!

The real underlying issue here is our loss of control over our government. The constitution says for the people by the people. Benjamin Franklin wrote;

“A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

We have allowed the Congressmen and Senators to become career politicians. They only care about getting re-elected. They cut deals with our money to get votes. Most of them have never run a business, they sit there and come up with pet projects and spend money that is not in the budget. We have a deficit over 12 trillion dollars! And they keep spending. President Obama says today that we must stop spending! He says that after the stimulus spending bill and now that he feels this healthcare bill is going through. He continued to bash President Bush about his spending, which what took Bush 8 years to do, he surpassed in less than one year.
As I have said before, we need term limits; we need representatives with business backgrounds, representatives committed to reducing spending and the size of government. People need to work, send illegal aliens back to their countries, and give our citizens jobs. If you are physically/mentally unable to work, we should help, otherwise get a job!

I know this part is controversial, but women need to stop becoming single mothers, and couples need to be committed to a relationship before conceiving a child. These children in single parent homes end up being brought up by day care centers and public school. They are indoctrinated in liberal ideology that the government owes them and is their savior. What Benjamin Franklin said is so true; you can see it, who votes for the democrats and their spending sprees, those who feel the government owes them a living and reap the money. Like the one Obama voter stated, now that he is elected, I helped him and now he will help me, I won’t have to pay my mortgage or put gas in my car.

I am afraid our country will only get worse if we do not change the attitude of our citizens and politicians. As long as our representatives dole out money in entitlements, those getting the entitlements will vote for the representative giving them out, our tax dollars. The funny thing is, the Democrats are doing exactly what they said they would do, spend money on enlarging the government.
Oh, one more thing, President Obama said today, again, that this bill makes Medicare solvent for years to come. Cutting billions of dollars from Medicare is going to make it more solvent. That is their way of cutting fraud and abuse, cut payments to physicians and hospitals. How about actually stopping the fraud and abuse. Making it harder for physicians and hospitals to pay their bills will only entice more to abuse the system.

Your vote counts, vote! Vote for candidates that promise to lower taxes and make government smaller. Vote for candidates that will pursue term limits, vote for candidates with business background and not looking to be there for life.

WHAT IS THE CONGRESS UP TO?

What a weekend. The drama goes on and on like the energizer bunny! We now hear that Senator Nelson from Nebraska will vote for the healthcare bill after receiving a bribe of over 300 million. But let’s talk about the bill first.

The new bill was just put out today, Saturday and senator’s offices are busy going over the 2000 plus pages. Still in the bill, billions in Medicare cuts; cuts to hospitals, nursing homes, home health and hospice. Tax increases for families, businesses and manufactures of medical devices. This bill imposes increases on Medicaid to states except Nebraska and Vermont (those bribes). The news is reporting a middle of the night vote, Monday 0100, 1am for you civilians . So looking at the above, do you think they are doing what the citizens want? Why do this at night, because they are pushing this through and don’t want us to see.
These career politicians are out of control and need to be sent home. Most of them have never ran a business where you make a profit and worry about expenses. Like right now, spend, spend, and spend! They just signed a bill with over 5,000 earmarks, now to get their votes they have bribed at least 3 Senators. If a civilian business did this the CEOs would be thrown in jail, but this is normal business in Washington. Our president campaigned on promising he would veto any bill with “ear marks” PORK in it, have you seen that happen, NO! He campaigned on stopping business as usual, seen any change, NO! Both parties in Washington need to stop the spending! We should not elect/reelect anyone to Washington that does not promise to stop earmarks!

I believe there are two groups of people in our country, those who want to work, make a living, have nice things and those who think the government should provide for them and they sit back and get a share of the nice things others work hard to get. Look at what who pays taxes;

Top 1% of wage earners 22.8% of wage earners, pay 40.4% of tax
Top 5% 37.44% of wage earners, pay 60.63 of tax
Top 10% 48.05% of wage earners, pay 71.22% of tax
Top 25% 68% of wage earners, pay 86.59% of tax
Bottom 50% 12.26% of wage earners, pay 2.89% of tax

The average wage for the top 25% $66,500/year. So, those making over $66,500 dollars in 2007 paid 86.6% of income taxes. I don’t think the lower wage earners in our country have anything to complain about in paying taxes. When you look at those making less than $66,500/year only pay 13.4% of the income taxes paid in 2007.

The 1.1 trillion dollar bill just passed had budget increases for next year of many federal departments. We are in a recession, how many of you are getting increases in your business or job? How many are getting raises in your income? Yet the Federal Transportation Department this year went from one employee making over $170,000/year to over 1000 making that much. We are in a recession and who is making the money and getting more jobs, the Federal Government!

Enough is enough!!! Unfortunately our Florida Senator Nelson is towing the Democratic Party line and voting for all this spending. He will not give a good reason for this his support of all this spending other than the dems talking points. The congress and senate are spending billions and trillions of dollars we do not have and just expect us to sit back and worry about paying for this later. They continue to expand government and its control. According to usdebtclock.org there are over 4.2 million federal government workers. There is no sense of constrained spending in Washington! They only care about getting reelected!

So how are you going to feel when your income does not go up, you pay more for health insurance, pay more in taxes to cover all this spending, your home if you own it does not increase in value, and you pay more for things because the value of the dollar keeps declining because of our out of control spending and increasing debt? And the Congressmen and Senators sit up there making their money, benefits, living high on the hog or should I say PORK. When will you get mad enough to do something about it? Call, write, email your Congressmen and Senators demanding they stop the spending, do not vote for this healthcare bill. If they do not listen vote them out and demand term limits!!! And make the new candidates replacing them commit to lower taxes, less government and no PORK! That they run the government like a business!

Don’t get me wrong, we need healthcare reform, several simple things would do it, and it would not take 2000 pages, TORT reform, portability from state to state, no pre-existing conditions, no caps on coverage. It will take months to really know what they have hidden in the 2000 plus pages of this massive bill.

RAIN DROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD

Greetings from rainy Iraq, yes rainy, lightning, thunder and light showers. What a week, lots going on. As I watch and read the news so much makes me sick to my stomach. I wonder what the country will be like when I get home, definitely different than when I left 2 years ago.

Public Schools: three reports today, one Detroit students, 69% below minimum standards, wow, let’s just throw more money at them! Let’s start teaching the three Rs again and maybe some C (computer)! Quite teaching all this social change stuff and get back to the basics. Also teach true history and government, not the watered down politically correct version. Two an 8 year old is given an assignment, draw something that reminds you of Christmas (surprised she did not say winter holiday) and the student had just got back from visiting a Catholic Shrine and drew a picture of Jesus on the Cross. Well guess what that got him, a trip home and a recommendation for counseling, seems the teacher thinks this shows tendency to violence. Third a third grader in a rest period of some kind, students allowed to sleep, read book, relax play games, the student pulled out her Bible and started to read, the teacher told her to put it away, when the student questioned because it is a book, was told not appropriate reading material. But schools all over the country make students read about homosexuality and their relations. You cannot make this stuff up!

Climate Change: This continues to be a hot topic this week. I believe in climate change, 4 times a year, (summer, winter fall, spring) even here in the desert! This is an unsettled science. There is no way we have enough accurate data to predict where the climate is going. I believe from what I have watched and read that the main reason the underdeveloped countries are pushing so much for this is for the U.S. and other rich countries to give them billions of dollars. It is all about control and world governance. They want to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, “drill baby drill”! Build nuclear power plants, more refineries, wind turbines and solar fields. Funny how the late Ted Kennedy was for green energy until they wanted to put wind turbines in the ocean off his beach, that they want to build a solar farm in a desert in California, but the environmentalist will not let them because it will mess up the eco system. We need to tell the environmentalist to go fly a kite and do the things for this country to help us survive. The environmentalists get their panties in a wad anytime someone wants to build something. We are sending so many jobs overseas and they are part of the reason.

Healthcare: This just needs to stop right now! The Democrats do not want to play with the Republicans and want it their way, expansion of government, take over healthcare, socialize America! They will not entertain any Republican ideas, develop their bill behind closed doors, and expect the American People to rubber stamp their 2000 page joke! They need to start over and listen to the people. Over 9 million pink slips have been sent to Washington, that is over 16,000 per Congressman and Senator, telling them to stop the healthcare bill and stop spending, do you think the Dems are listening, I don’t. The career representatives need to be booted out ASAP! They think they are above us, that we don’t know what is good for us, they it is their money, THEY WORK FOR US! The Dems just passed the 1.1 trillion dollar spending bill with over 5,000 yes 5,000 earmarks better known as PORK, if they were serious about helping the nation they would have been taken out. Look at Senator Schumer, he recently flew a shuttle flight to Washington, hats off to him flying commercial, but it was time to leave the gate, he was asked to end his cell phone call after the announcement was made to the plane, he asked to finish his call, he was politely told to turn his phone off the plane could not leave until he did. He got mad, ended his call and as the flight attendant walked away called her a B----H, is that how you act, that just shows how these career politicians think they are above all rules, and laws. If you or I did that they would have thrown us off the plane which is what they should have done to him.

Florida Senate Seat: Today, reported that Rubio and Crist are even in the polls. Never have been too sure about Crist, seems pretty moderate, I looked up Rubio on his website, looks like my kind of man, a fresh face, pro-smaller government, pro-less taxes, pro-legal immigration, pro-life, pro-gun! Will keep an eye on him.
Out of Control Spending: Just a little while ago the House Dems passed a 155 billion dollar jobs bill, guess the billions in stimulus are not working, Duh! They also passed 290 billion dollar increase in the national debt limit. Is anyone out there getting upset like me with this spending? As I have said before, we are not their ATM machine! This all has to get paid back someday! They need to be stopped!!!

Cool Beans: Today a Independent Senator proposed a 767 page amendment to the healthcare bill, so to slow things down, a Republican Senator required it to be read before it could be voted on. Cool, that way people would know what is in it since the Dems don’t want to play fair an let people read what is being proposed. Well it was being read for three hours, was stopped when the Senator who proposed the amendment withdrew it. Guess it wasn’t too important.

WAKE UP, THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!

What in the world is our Government doing? They seem hell bent on spending us out of house and home while they grow the government! They are spending and spending and spending! Here are some excerpts from a USA Today article,

*The number of federal workers earning six-figure salaries has exploded during the recession, according to a USA TODAY analysis of federal salary data.

*The highest-paid federal employees are doing best of all on salary increases. Defense Department civilian employees earning $150,000 or more increased from 1,868 in December 2007 to 10,100 in June 2009, the most recent figure available.

*When the recession started, the Transportation Department had only one person earning a salary of $170,000 or more. Eighteen months later, 1,690 employees had salaries above $170,000.

*The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker's pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.

Anyone see a problem with this? And they seem to be so serious about passing healthcare bill by Christmas, even when most lawmakers if any have not read it, it will increase costs and give the government more control over us.

And there is the Climate Change bill, which is based on bad science. This will raise costs to all Americans, even in his own words, President Obama says it will raise costs of electricity! The EPA now says CO2 is a pollutant and will regulate it if Congress does not pass climate change!

I hear tonight that the feds want to change the law and regulate all waters of the U.S.(down to the farmer’s pond), not just navigation waters as it has been for years.

They want to use TARP monies to spend for jobs ( Federal Government jobs are the only ones to increase this year), it should go back into the treasury to decrease our debt. They want to keep spending money we do not have and that will take hundreds of years to repay.

Most if not all Congress and Senate are corrupt to some extent. We can fix this, is it simple TERM LIMITS! We need to get the career politicians out of there, put in businessmen that understand we the people are not their ATM and it is not their money!

Every member of congress, 535 of them, have received over 8.5 million pink slips telling them we do not want a Climate Change bill, a Healthcare bill and to stop spending, think they are listening? They don't act like it!

Please here is what we need to do.

Call your Representative and Senators, if you cannot get through at least email or write a letter, tell them;

DO NOT Vote for the Health Care Bill!
DO NOT Vote for Climate Change Bill!
DO NOT Vote or increasing the debt limit!
DO NOT Spend TARP monies, put it back in the Treasury!
DO NOT Spend any more monies!
DO SUPPORT SENATOR DE MINTs TERM LIMIT BILL!

One more point, here is an excerpt from LA Times on what Illegal Aliens are costing LA County, take this and spread it across American (it is not as concentrated elsewhere) and that is a big part of the reason Healthcare is expensive and what is overloading our resources!

1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County (L. A. County has10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8 Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.
10.. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish.

WHAT IS A TRILLION DOLLARS?

I am reading the book America For Sale. It is very interesting, eye opening and I am only on page 29. We are now starting to talk trillions of dollars when we talk federal budget. What is a trillion dollars? A trillion is a 1 with 12 zeros after it. Here are some comparisons from the book;

-If you had gone into business on the day Jesus was born, and your business lost a million dollars a day, day in and day out, 365 days a year, it would take you until October 2737 to lose $1trillion.

-If you spend $1 million a day every day since Jesus was born, you would still be only slightly more than three-quarters of the way to spending $1 trillion.

-One trillion dollars divided by 300 million Americans comes out to $3,333 per person.

-One trillion one-dollar bills stacked one on top of the other would reach nearly 68,000 miles into the sky, about a third of the way from the earth to the moon.

-Earth’s home galaxy, the Milky Way, is estimated to contain about 200 billion stars; so, if each star cost one dollar, $1 trillion would buy five Milky Way galaxies full of stars.

-One trillion seconds of ordinary clock time equals 31,546 years. So, spending money at the rate of one dollar every second, or $86,400 every day, a spending spree would still take nearly 32,000 years to reach $1 trillion.

-If someone were to build city blocks that contained ten homes valued at $100,000 per home, you would end up with ten houses to a block, ten blocks to a mile, and a hundred blocks per square mile. It would take 10,000 square miles to reach $1 trillion in value. This would be more than six of our states: Vermont, 9,615 square miles; New Hampshire, 9,351 square miles; New Jersey, 8,722 square miles; Connecticut, 5,544 square miles; Delaware, 1,954 square miles; and Rhode Island, 1,545 square miles.

According to the national debt clock today the national debt is 12 trillion, so take all the above and multiply by 12 to get a handle on how much the government is in debt. And we are going to have a 1.4 trillion deficit this year. Right now every citizen in the US, their share of the national debt is over $34,000.

When are we going to get the House and Senate to stop spending? The above figures do not count the Healthcare Bill or Cap and Trade. If you listen closely, the Senate’s healthcare bill collects taxes for 5 years then starts paying benefits the last 5 years of the 10 years the costs are projected. It is reported that if you look at 12 months of full funding and benefits it is $2 trillion a year. Does anyone really think we can keep this up?

According to the National Debt Clock, unfunded debt; Social Security, Prescription Drugs and Medicare equal $106.3 trillion dollars or $345,185 per US Citizen. I don’t think we can raise taxes enough to pay the Federal Government’s bills.

Page 29 of America For Sale states Craig Smith, founder and CEO of Swiss America Trading Corporation, has estimated it would take approximately four generations of Americans to pay of the interest of the U.S. Treasury bonds sold as debt to create $1trillion, factoring in a 3 % growth rate in the economy.

I don’t know about you, but this is mind boggling! It is hard to comprehend just how much in debt we are and the House and Senate keep spending more. There are reports of the House looking at another stimulus to create jobs!

We must call/write/email our House and Senate Representatives and demand they stop spending! They are running our country into the ground! Could any business run like this and keep their doors open? I think not. They must know we will hold them accountable next election! They work for us, not special interests or themselves.

FUZZY MATH AND TERRORIST

A lot has been going on since my last Post. Healthcare, Climate Change, Terrorist Trials, just to name a few. I will try to hit the main points, could spend pages and pages if detailed too much.

The Congress and Senate are getting over 7.5 million pink slips, (and still climbing) that is over 14,000 each! Stating NO on Healthcare, Climate Change, Hate Crime Bill (which the Democrats hid in the Department of Defense bill and passed), and stop this outrageous spending. You would think they would get the hint.

Healthcare: well, the Senate overcame the filibuster to pass the bill on for debate. Will be interesting as they start to debate after Thanksgiving. The main issues with the bill really needs to get out to the public, here are some of the issues;

-Taxes and hundreds of billions in Medicare cuts start now, benefits do not start till 2014 and not fully in place until 2017, which is why the price is under 900 billion. So there will still be millions without healthcare for 3 years.

-Real cost per year after fully implemented over 2 trillion!

-Has public option which states can opt out, so how is that fair across the country?

-Publicly funded abortion.

-200 billion “Doc Fix” moved from bill to general fund to make it under President’s maximum amount.

-Higher Medicare tax for high wage earners.

-300 million dollar bribe to Louisiana Senator for her vote.

These are just a few of the reasons we must stop this bill! In a lot of ways it is similar to the House bill, so the Democrats will not come up with of a different bill. Call and/or write your Senator and Congressman, we must stop this and start over!

Climate Change: Al Gore is using false science to push for Cap and Trade. This is a huge tax bill for all citizens. Recently published emails show where the scientists pushing this have altered data to keep showing their wrong results. There are scientists now showing that we are not the problem with CO2, and that the earth is still absorbing it and will continue for a long time. We are now in a cooling trend, the earth’s weather runs in cycles, and we do not have enough accurate data to predict the future. We need to be kind to the earth, but now so radical as to the proposed guidelines the President and his green team want. We need to tell the environmentalist to go fly a kite and drill in the US, build nuclear, wind and solar power! We have a lot of oil resources yet untapped because of the environmentalist!

Terrorist: Hasan the Fort Hood shooter, enough evidence is out that this was a terrorist attack by a radical Muslim! He knew exactly what he was doing. Now his attorney says insanity will be looked at, what a joke. No one wants to admit what this was, terrorist attack plain and simple. In the book Muslim Mofia page 238 outlining the goals of the Muslim Brotherhood, number 4 “Converting Americans to Islam, with a special focus on Hispanic immigrants and black inmates and Soldiers (emphasis mine).

Now they want to take the 9-11 terrorists and hold their trial in New York. It is now reported they had requested to plead guilty and be executed, but now that they get to go to New York, they will plead not guilty and use this as a forum to spew their political agenda and propaganda. The White House and US Attorney are playing right into the terrorist hands.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is and has always been a front for terrorist, even though they act like they want to help the US against them on the surface. The US has had the wool pulled over their eyes for years as the Muslim Brotherhood under many fronts including CAIR has infiltrated our law enforcement, government and military. We must demand and encourage our FBI, CIA and US Attorney to fully investigate these fronts and forget political correctness and bring the truth to light! I highly encourage everyone reading this to read the book Muslim Mafia, if only half of it is true, it will highly enlighten you to the actions of the radical Muslims in our country!

I encourage everyone to be an informed constituent and voter. Make sure your candidate is for decreased government and spending. It does not matter if they are Democrat, Republican or Independent, it matters what they think and believe, they work for us, the voter, not special interest! There is a renewed interest in term limits, I believe this is a must! Our forefathers never dreamed of career politicians. Senator Bird is a prime example of the need for term limits, 92 years old, frail and the longest serving Senator ever, is he really representing his state or special interest, is he really that effective now? The forefathers expected a business man or farmer to go to Washington for one or two terms, serve their country and go home and go back to work, know how to run a business. We have let people go to college, get a degree in law or political science, get elected and serve unlimited terms only worrying about getting re-elected for the most part! We have many Senators and Congressmen that have only held office, never run a business, and they want to dictate how businesses are to run and how much profit they make or pay their employees. They get lucrative medical benefits and retirement and never have run a business, had to make a profit. Please write your Congressman and Senators to support term limits. I know it is hard when you have a good person in their serving, but this is needed.

4 DAY PASS

Back to work for the second day since returning from 4 day pass to Qatar. It was very relaxing, just what I needed to finish out this deployment. I have been deployed 551 days with about 80 left. We have a real cool spell going, high today 57 with a low tonight of 42, chilly!

I was in Qatar September 2008 for a pass, not much had changed in 14 months. They remodeled the computer room with new chairs and desks and new computers, they had new lounge chairs in the movie room. I relaxed for 6 days.
The first day you get there is day 0, lets you get settled in. I arrived in Qatar about 0100 and was finished in processing and in my room about 0500. I stayed on my night shift time so I went to bed. Got up about 1700, cleaned up and went to the Top Off Club/MWR to enjoy a great Rib Eye Steak, French Fries and a Guiness. You are allowed three beers from 1800 to 2400 daily. They keep track of your purchases on computer so you cannot cheat. I spent time on computer, watched football, couple movies, of course had my other two Guiness before midnight, called Robyn and went to bed about my normal time 0800. The next 3 days were about the same, I had a great T-bone steak the night of day 4, and both it and the Rib Eye were cooked almost perfect. Of course I was not too picky, the steaks we get at the DFAC are over cooked, we call them camel leather. So having a medium rare to medium steak that is juicy is fantastic. I also had a great bacon cheese burger one night and chicken fried rice. I ate midnight chow at the DFAC each night, they had real Krispy Kreme Donuts, wow what a treat.

On day 4 you go to the notification board at 2100 to get your flight home some time after midnight, I got a 1215 show time. So I tried to go to bed at 0300, get up at 1000, clean up, get lunch and arrived to go to the airfield. The flight was cancelled, come back at 2100 for your next flight. So now I was not sure what to do, so I stayed up thinking I would get a nap after 2100, got a 0800 show time so I went to bed at 2200 and got up at 0600. I was so tired; I slept well and felt pretty good when I got up. That flight held, so I got 6 days for my 4 day pass.
Had a great time, relaxed, no schedules, just hung out and watched movies, read my book and got on computer. Now ready to finish this mission and get home.

Got some good news when I got back, when I got here we were housed in the old Iraqi barracks, I had a room to myself, it was great. Then I think it was end of July they moved us into the new CHUs, had to have a roommate, now they have decided they have some extra rooms and my roommate is moving out and I will have my own room till we leave. This is great!!

4 DAY PASS, YEA!!!

Having a great day off, if everything works right, should be flying out to Qatar for a 4-Day PASS early Sunday morning. I go to the flight line at 2200, that is 10pm for you civilians, and get my flight time. I am really looking forward to a few days off and new scenery! I am now in my 20th month of deployment. I had this 4-day trip September 2008 and it was great, went home in May for 18 days leave and now one more break before the downhill slide home.

Will be nice, read my books, eat some cook to order food (excited about a nice Ribeye), enjoy some brew and maybe there will be some entertainers there. Still warm there, but cooler than when I was there in September, around 90 during the day and 70s at night. Have not made my mind up if I will stay on night hours or change to days. Most of the activity is late afternoon thru about 1-2 am. Some of my decision will depend on the roommates I get. Last time several of them slept most of the day, which would work for me. Weather leaving is great, maybe I can get a sand storm to delay me leaving a day or two! Will let you know how it is going!

FORT HOOD SHOOTING

What a sad tragic event at Ft. Hood. Please keep the wounded and family members, friends and brother in arms of those murdered in your prayers! This is so tragic. It is almost comical to watch the news coverage. The main stream media, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS want to ignore that he was Muslim. They keep asking why would he do this, what would cause him to, they keep talking about post deployment stress, he has not been deployed! Even some of Fox’s coverage is leaning this way.

What things are being reported? He was Muslim, not converted, has not changed his name. He frequented and worshiped at Mosques. Frequently wore traditional Muslim attire, like the white cap and “man dress” he wore to get coffee the day of the shooting. It has been reported he was calm and deliberate during the shooting, and he announced God is great in Arabic before and/or during the shooting (done by many terrorist before they attack). It has also been reported that he gave out Korans and gave away his furniture the morning of the shooting. That he was against going to the Middle East and fighting Muslims, felt Muslims should stand up against the U.S., and was vocal about it.

It is early in the investigation, but does this sound like someone who just snapped and grabbed a gun and started shooting? If that is what he did, snap, why did he not shoot people at the hospital where he worked? Instead he went to the SRP building where around 300 soldiers were processing in a somewhat confined area, as some in the military would say a target rich environment.

Keep an open mind, watch the news, think through their reporting and see where this goes. If it does end up being Muslim inspired, I would not be surprised to see the mainstream media try to hide it.

DAY AFTER ELECTIONS!! :)

Today President Obama and the Democrats see how the Citizens feel about their policies. The win of almost all the elections last night went to Republicans or Independents. Why they are asking, it’s the economy stupid!! President Obama said earlier this year when he wanted to spend a trillion dollars to “save” our economy, that if we did this unemployment would not go over 8% and we do it and it goes over 9%, jobs are not coming back, what they should be seeing is that they need to stop spending and getting into our business. Most of the people who voted for the president were not informed voters or they probably would not have voted for him. The Democratic Leaders said what they were going to do if he won, exactly what they are doing, spending, controlling and regulating us to death! We can only hope to get conservative representatives elected next year and get control of our country back.
A couple thoughts on the White House and their fight against Fox News. They say they are not fair and balanced, not a real news organization, not reporting truth. Well, I was watching MSNBC tonight, their live show, mainly because there is only one news channel on AFN here and they rotate the different news shows and that was what was on. Contessa Brewer was on from Maine where the voters overturned homosexual marriage. She spent the first 10 minutes of the show interviewing multiple pro homosexual marriage, telling them how sorry she was they were defeated, directing her questions from a supporting angle, then reported on another story before coming back supposedly to cover the other side, spent 5 minutes interviewing a Catholic Priest who’s church supported overturning homosexual marriage including money for the cause. She was grilling him on what Jesus would do, on and on trying to make him look bad. And the White House thinks MSNBC, CNN are the leaders in fair and balanced reporting, HA! It is amazing how thin skinned the White House is if anyone would disagree with their policies and plans.
We have to stand up for what is right and true. Make your Congressman and Senator listen to you , be accountable to us, the ones they work for!!!! Call and write them today, tell them NO on this 2000 page health care bill, NO on Climate Change Bill. We are not their ATM Card!

HEALTHCARE BILL

Well the Democrats continue to strive to force a Healthcare Bill down our throats! Nancy Pelosi has brought forth an Albatross and plan on voting on it next week. I hope that everyone after reading this will call or email your congressional representative and tell him/her not to vote on this. I also know that your congressional representative and senators have received 7, 476 pink slips each and they are still coming! The pink slip says we do not want the Healthcare Bill, Cap and Trade, Hate Crime Bill and stop the spending. Are they listening, some are. But the Democrats are not, they slipped the Hate Crime Bill into the Defense Spending Bill because they knew it would not pass if presented separately.

With Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats unveiling their 1,990 page health care reform bill - it made us wonder about other landmark pieces of legislation in U.S. history and how long they were.

•The original draft of the 1935 Economic Security Act, which established the Social Security Administration was 64 pages;
•The Civil Rights Act of 1964 - forbidding discrimination based on race and sex: 8 pages;
•The 19th amendment to the Constitution, giving Women the right to vote in 1920: 1 page;
•The Emancipation Proclamation, with which Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves in 1863: 5 pages;
•Or, if you really want to get back to basics: The Declaration of independence came in at 1 page in 1776;
•And the Constitution: 4 pages long in 1787;
•Health care reform, Pelosi version - almost 2,000 pages.

I have read today that the House Healthcare Bill contains language that prohibits states from developing their own TORT reform, Texas has done this and decreased their healthcare costs 30%. It also has provision to make food chains of more than 20 outlets and vendor machine companies to display calorie counts of their items on the menus. There is also a tax on medical equipment like hip replacement items, pacemakers, etc. This is just some of the government expansion this bill does. It is not healthcare reform, it is government expansion and take over. When it comes to the floor next week for a vote, we will still not know what all is in it. The CBO says it will cost over one trillion dollars, cuts Medicare and taxes the successful in our country. It has a tax of 5.4 percent to those who make over $500,000 a year, if you are at the minimal that is $27,000 on top of your health costs. To put this more in perspective, if you were taxed the same and made $80,000 that would be $4320, is this President Obama’s spread the wealth, THINK ABOUT IT!

President Obama is right; this will not require you to change physicians, at first! With a government backed policy, which gives on the surface great benefits for less money, business and individuals will move to the government policy, the system will be over whelmed and costs will rise to the taxpayer. Social Security was great for a while, over the years the bureaucrats keep adding who can get benefits and now there are more getting benefits than those working can pay for. Same with Medicaid. The Democrats, liberals, progressives, what ever you call them want more government, more control because if you give people entitlements and money, they vote for you. We have excessively much government in our lives. It is time to stand up and say enough!!! Stop the spending!!!

Now a few words about President Obama’s Cabinet and Advisors. In his campaign he said see who he is by who he surrounds himself with and he would not have lobbyist working in the White House. Well lets look at who those are;

•Attorney General Eric Holder was registered as a lobbyist at Covington & Burling up to 2004;
•Leon Panetta raked in hundreds of thousands of dollars from corporation in consulting fees, Lobbyist-lite;
•Ron Klain, chief of staff to VP Biden lobbyist at O’Melveny & Myers until 2004;
•Patrick Baspard, Obama’s transition deputy director of personnel and campaign national director, chief lobbyist for SEIU’s(huge union) New York health care affiliate;
•David Hays, deputy secretary of the Interior, Lobbyist for Latham & Watkins through 2006.

These are just a few. Then there were those submitted, some confirmed, some withdrew that have problem paying their taxes; Tim Geithner Tom Daschle, Nancy Killefer, Bill Richardson (Pay for Play Probe).

It continues to come out that Obama has surrounded himself with many who promote Marxist ideology. This is documented by their own words. Some may say that Glenn Beck is not truthful, he does give his opinion, is entitled to that, but he does show the true colors of these Obama sidekicks with their own words. That is what happened to Van Jones, now one attacked him, made false accusations, just showed him giving talks and expressing his radical ideology. There are several people putting out the truth, but the main media continues to cover President Obama and refuse to report the truth or anything that might show him in a negative light.

I highly encourage you to read the books on my must read list, especially Culture of Corruption to get a light shined on the current presidency.

Above all, call or email your congressional representative and senators to not vote for the Healthcare Bill and then call or write them again and tell them not to support the Climate Change Bill formally known as the Global Warming Bill. They had to rename it because as they review the test results there is no Global Warming.

BUSY DAY IN OUR COUNTRY

Well a busy week in our country. The Senate has put out a 1500 page healthcare bill, I guess not to be out done by the House with theri 1100 pages. The White House and Democrats are so set on wanting a bipartisan bill that they locked the Republicans out of the committee room they were working in yesterday. I am not saying that the Republicans are perfect, far from it, but how immature and childish can the Democrats get, and out of the other side of their mouth they say we welcome their input? Listen closely the next few days to what is in the bill, they have already taken some of the cost out and put elsewhere to lower the cost. This is still a terrible bill. We need reform but not the entitlement fiasco they want to shove down our throats.

Rasmussen reports today new poll numbers on President Obama, now his approval rating is a -13 that is the difference of those who strongly approve of his performance 27% and those who strongly disapprove 40%. Overall 47% are at least somewhat approval of the President’s performance while 53% disapprove. 31% feel Congress has a good understanding of the health care proposal or 69% don’t.
Glenn Beck had a very interesting analysis of how the White House and Congress is working to spin the current events. Three things they do, accuse the people of WRONG THINKING, that they or it is a DANGER, and make PROFIT. He presented several very good videos of them doing this. They have no good arguments, so they have to attack those who do not agree with them. Look at Fox News, now the Chamber of Commerce, and the Tea Parties. Next time you watch the news, watch for them to do this.

You remember the 6 imams (Muslim clerks) thrown off a US Airways flight in Minneapolis in 2006? They scared the passengers and flight crew with loudly praying in Arabic, refused to sit in assigned seats, fanned out in the cabin in pairs to occupy the front, middle and rear exit rows, ordered seat-belt extenders they did not need or use, criticized the Iraq war and President Bush, talked about al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden. Well they sued the airport and US Airways for discrimination. Well if you look like a duck, walk like a duck, and quack like a duck, should we wait till you go boom? This was in 2006, not 2000, we had already had 9-11. Well with the politically correct country we are not in, they settled out of court today for an undisclosed amount of money. US Airways could see the writing on the wall so basically they won. Now flight crews will be cautious about reporting unusual behavior and this could set up another 9-11 down the road. The article which I encourage you to read, I don’t want to take all my space with the details, also rewinds to 1999 when two Muslim college students were removed from an American West flight from Phoenix to Washington for twice trying to open the cockpit door, not once but twice. Was this a dry run for 9-11? They filed suits claiming racial profiling against American West. Of course both of these incidents the “victims” were represented by CAIR who is now being looked at for what they are, promoting Muslim takeover of our country. Couple updates if you did not hear, the apartment complex that would not let anyone have an American Flag on their car or apartment has recanted and now allows them. The young Boy Scout did not get suspended, they are changing the rules so that children that young are not treated like a older student in these cases. So public outcry can still change things.
There have been 3.5 million pink slips ordered and are in the process of being delivered to every member of Congress, telling them we do not want the healthcare bill, hate crime bill, cap and trade and to stop the spending, we will be watching and if they do not hear us, will give them their pink slip next election. Can you imagine the congressional mail room trying to handle 3.5 million individually addressed pink slips? Two Republicans have already acknowledged starting to get them and hearing us. God and guns, Part 2

Despite atheists' attempts to keep our national motto ("In God We Trust") from being engraved on the walls of the new 580,000 square-foot Capitol Visitors Center, or CVC, the inscription was indelibly etched recently in large, bold and deep letters. And the Pledge of Allegiance will soon follow.

As Rep. Randy Forbes, R-Va., noted, "This was accomplished due to the efforts of so many individuals in Congress and across the country who were willing to stand up on behalf of our nation's religious heritage. Thousands of visitors will walk through the center each day. The efforts of the individuals that have joined in this issue have enabled those visitors to experience a more accurate depiction of our nation's heritage written in stone."

It's about time that good news came out of Washington. But this shouldn't be shocking news or even a contested matter. For the very words of the national motto are inscribed on our currency. They are even etched above the rostrum of the speaker's head in the House of Representatives.

Only in our modern age have skeptics and secular progressives fought God in America. Religious inscriptions on Washington's other buildings testify to yesteryear's commitment to our Judeo-Christian heritage.

Take, for example, that in front of the Ronald Reagan Building is a statue titled "Liberty of Worship," which is resting on the Ten Commandments.

On the aluminum capstone at the very top of the Washington Monument are the chiseled words, "Laus Deo" (Latin for "Praise be to God"). As Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, reminded his colleagues, the Washington Monument displays the words "Praise be to God" on the east side that faces the Capitol. He elaborated, "every day when the first rays of God's sun hit the very first thing in this Nation's Capitol," those words are illuminated.

A statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments is in the rotunda of the Library of Congress.

In addition to the words "In God We Trust" within the chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives, a marble bas-relief of Moses is the central and only frontal depiction of 23 reliefs of great historical lawgivers which surround the walls of the chamber and all look in Moses' direction. Is it just a coincidence that Moses is the central figure and the only one looking down on Congress?

A stained glass window in the chapel of the U.S. Capitol depicts George Washington with the words of Psalm 16:1 written out around him and the words "This Nation Under God" above his head.

The Ten Commandments are also displayed on the floor of the National Archives, just 100 feet or so in front of the original copies of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution?

The prayer of President John Adams, the first president to occupy the White House, was inscribed on the mantel in the State Dining Room: "I pray to heaven to bestow the best of blessings on this house and all that hereafter inhabit it. … May none but the honest and wise men ever rule under this roof."

And Moses and/or the Ten Commandments are depicted a whopping 64 times on the U.S. Supreme Court building, etc.

Do we believe any of these Judeo-Christian displays could be erected today in Washington, let alone in any other civic setting across the country? Why is it that those in yesteryear didn't decry them as violations of the separation of church and state? Answer: It's because they didn't see God or religion as a violation of the First Amendment but a practice of it.

Let's be honest …

One of the geniuses of America's Founding Fathers was to provide and secure a foundation for our freedom of religious belief. The First Amendment simply reads: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

When Thomas Jefferson originally penned his legendary commentary on the First Amendment – "a wall of separation between Church and State" – in his letter to the Danbury Baptists in 1802, he was concerned with prohibiting the domination and legislation of religious sectarianism in government, as it was back in England and even in some early colonies, such as Virginia. However, he was not trying to rid government of religious influence.

That does not mean we enforce one religion on all people – that is what the First Amendment protects us from. I believe in the separation of religious sectarianism from government and protecting our religious institutions, such as churches, from the long arm of the federal government. I don't believe, however, in an erroneous interpretation of the Bill of Rights, or Jefferson's and Madison's interpretive words, that would restrict religious or speech freedoms or produce a secular-progressive barrier that bans any religious influence in society.

Whatever your religious persuasion, don't be ashamed of it. This is America. And that's one of the things that still makes us a great nation. In God we trust.

Barack Obama: It's about priorities

Last week, the president of the United States graced San Francisco with his presence. He was in town on Thursday to raise some $3 million in political money but not to mingle with the average folks – you know, the ones whose votes he solicited last November.

The Matier and Ross column in the San Francisco Chronicle on Oct. 14 headlined it accurately: "Obama to avoid the rabble on S.F. visit."

Avoid them he did – being whisked in by limo and escorted through back entrances so the only people who saw him were those from whom his presence extracted money – big money, at two fundraisers: a $500-$1,000 a pop reception for about 1,000 and a VIP dinner for some 160 supporters, each paying $30,500 or more for a pair of tickets that got them dinner, a handshake with the man and even a picture.

As the Chronicle headlined on Friday, "President visits city – lucky few see him."

Actually, the people who really "saw" him were those who ponied up money to refill Democrat coffers to fund upcoming elections.

The rest of us didn't count.

Last week, I received an e-mail from the office of Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., that contained a copy of his remarks on Thursday, Oct. 15, in the House Chamber, in tribute to Sgt. Joshua M. Hardt, U.S. Army:

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to pay tribute to U.S. Army Sgt. Joshua M. Hardt of Applegate, California. He is one of the fallen heroes of the Battle of Kamdesh – the remote outpost that was besieged and surrounded and hopelessly outnumbered by more than 300 Taliban insurgents on October 3rd. No soldiers in the history of our nation have fought more valiantly or bravely than the defenders of Combat Outpost Keating that day. In the end, they held their ground, they defended their flag and the honor of their country."

The day Rep. McClintock spoke those words, the president was in New Orleans, for a four-hour pit stop – clearly a token visit to reassure the injured city that the president cares.

He made two quick stops while there, using the time to tell folks he would not "quit" New Orleans and went on to promote his medical plan and criticize insurance companies.

Obama told residents he wished he could write a check to solve their problems dealing with the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. When a heckler challenged him to do that, he said that there's something called the Constitution and Congress to deal with.

What a surprise! Those "details" haven't deterred him from writing massive checks to other entities over the last months. It appears only the "big guys" warrant his check-writing skills, not the average citizens of this country. They only count when he wants their votes.

While Obama was in Louisiana, Rep. McClintock in Washington recounted what Sgt. Hardt and his fellow soldiers did at Kamdesh:

" … most importantly, they defended something fundamental and sacred and eternal that defines humanity itself. They defended something that can never be abandoned as long as humanity exists. They defended right against wrong – good against evil – freedom against tyranny – in its most stark and defining form."

Obama's second and last stop in New Orleans was one of those farcical "town hall" meetings – selected attendance and limited questions. He took just seven queries, one from a 4th-grade boy who asked the president:

Why do people hate you? They're supposed to love you, and God is love."

Obama's response was typically self-serving recounting the economic ills of the country and that the president has to get some of the blame, because "that's part of the job."

How noble of him.

Rep. McClintock spoke of real nobility when he recounted that Josh Hardt was 24, an outstanding high-school athlete who joined the Army three years ago. He rose to the rank of sergeant and was awarded many ribbons, including the Bronze Star. His mother said Josh joined the Army to make a difference, wanting us to be safe.

At home last year, after his first tour in Iraq, Josh told his football coach how excited he was to be marrying his love, Olivia, and planning a family. He said he loved the Army and looked forward to the future when he would return to the states and help other veterans.

Obama left Louisiana with some criticism that he gave them short shrift, but, after all, he had to get to San Francisco for the really important part of the trip – glad-handing, fundraising and more speeches promoting his political agenda. Then he returned home to Washington.

Sgt. Joshua M. Hardt returned home on Friday, for the last time.

Rep. McClintock continued:

It's pitiful that the man responsible for our soldiers being in harm's way can't find time to even mention those killed in the service of their country, to honor their ultimate sacrifice and to thank their parents for having raised such heroic children.

But then, Barack Obama has his agenda, and it's amazing how dead soldiers disrupt well-orchestrated political plans for changing America.

Thinking about these and other statements made by the man who wears the title of president. I keep wondering what country he believes he's president of.

In one of my very favorite stories, Edward Everett Hale's "The Man without a Country," a young Army lieutenant named Philip Nolan stands condemned for treason during the Revolutionary War, having come under the influence of Aaron Burr. When the judge asks him if he wishes to say anything before sentence is passed, young Nolan defiantly exclaims, "Damn the United States ! I wish I might never hear of the United States again!"

The stunned silence in the courtroom is palpable, pulsing. After a long pause, the judge soberly says to the angry lieutenant: "You have just pronounced your own sentence. You will never hear of the United States again.. I sentence you to spend the rest of your life at sea, on one or another of this country's naval vessels - under strict orders that no one will ever speak to you again about the country you have just cursed."

And so it was. Philip Nolan was taken away and spent the next 40 years at sea, never hearing anything but an occasional slip of the tongue about America. The last few pages of the story, recounting Nolan's dying hours in his small stateroom - now turned into a shrine to the country he fore swore - never fail to bring me to tears. And I find my own love for this dream, this miracle called America , refreshed and renewed. I know how blessed and unique we are.

But reading and hearing the audacious, shocking statements of the man who was recently elected our president - a young black man living the impossible dream of millions of young Americans, past and present, black and white - I want to ask him, "Just what country do you think you're president of?"

You surely can't be referring to the United States of America , can you? America is emphatically a Christian nation, and has been from its inception! Seventy percent of her citizens identify themselves as Christian. The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were framed, written and ratified by Christians. It's because this was, and is, a nation built on and guided by Judeo-Christian biblical principles that you, sir, have had the inestimable privilege of being elected her president.

You studied law at Harvard, didn't you, sir? You taught constitutional law in Chicago ? Did you not ever read the statement of John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and an author of the landmark "Federalist Papers": "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers - and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation - to select and prefer Christians for their rulers"?

In your studies, you surely must have read the decision of the Supreme Court in 1892: "Our lives and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian."

Did your professors have you skip over all the high-court decisions right up till the mid 1900's that echoed and reinforced these views and intentions? Did you pick up the history of American jurisprudence only in 1947, when for the first time a phrase coined by Thomas Jefferson about a "wall of separation between church and state" was used to deny some specific religious expression - contrary to Jefferson' s intent with that statement?

Or, wait a minute .. were your ideas about America 's Christianity formed during the 20 years you were a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ under your pastor, Jeremiah Wright? Is that where you got the idea that " America is no longer a Christian nation"? Is this where you, even as you came to call yourself a Christian, formed the belief that " America has been arrogant"?

Even if that's the understandable explanation of your damning of your country and accusing the whole nation (not just a few military officials trying their best to keep more Americans from being murdered by jihadists) of "not always living up to her ideals," how did you come up with the ridiculous, alarming notion that we might be "considered a Muslim nation"?

Is it because there are some 2 million or more Muslims living here, trying to be good Americans? Out of a current population of over 300 million, 70 percent of whom are Christians? Does that make us, by any rational definition, a "Muslim nation"?

Why are we not, then, a "Chinese nation"? A "Korean nation"? Even a "Vietnamese nation"? There are even more of these distinct groups in America than Muslims. And if the distinction you're trying to make is a religious one, why is America not "a Jewish nation"? There's actually a case to be made for the latter, because our Constitution - and the success of our Revolution and founding - owe a deep debt to our Jewish brothers.

Have you stopped to think what an actual Muslim America would be like? Have you ever really spent much time in Iran? Even in Egypt? You, having been instructed in Islam as a kid at a Muslim school in Indonesia and saying you still love the call to evening prayers, can surely picture our nation founded on the Quran, not the Judeo-Christian Bible, and living under Shariah law. Can't you? You do recall Muhammad's directives [Surah 9:5,73] to "break the cross" and "kill the infidel"?

It seems increasingly and painfully obvious that you are more influenced by your upbringing and questionable education than most suspected. If you consider yourself the president of a people who are "no longer Christian," who have "failed to live up to our ideals," who "have been arrogant," and might even be "considered Muslim" - you are president of a country most Americans don't recognize.

Could it be you are a president without a country?

SAD STATE OF AFFAIRS

Our country is really in a sad shape, political correctness is ramped and common sense out the window. Looking over the headlines today makes one nauseated!

Rifqa Bary, the 17 year old Muslim turned Christian was told today she will be returned to her Muslim parents in Ohio. The court has determined there is not threat to her life, possible honor killing. Well, I really hope and pray they are right. There are plenty of incidents of such things happening to sons and daughters when they convert to Christianity. I hope that her parents are being truthful and she is safe at home or that with the national publicity they will not carry out what the Koran says to do with Muslims that covert to other religions a.k.a. honor killings. I hope and pray we do not read of her demise after returning home.
Albany Oregon, an apartment complex is banning any flags to be on vehicles or the apartments, including our United States flag. If you do not comply, you will be evicted. The reason given, our flag may offend someone. If you have a flag decal on your car, or if like one father whose son is in Iraq has a flag on the back of his bike, they have to come off. Where do people get this, if you live in this country, and are a citizen, the flag should not offend you. If you are visiting, or here illegally, and the flag offends you, don’t let the door hit you in the behind on the way back to your country.

A six year old boy scout gets suspended from school, and assigned to a 45 day school for troubled children for taking his camping utility tool, like a dumbed down swiss army knife, has a spoon, fork and small knife blade that all fold out to school. He is new to scouting and was proud of his new tool. The school has zero tolerance of weapons, well what about ball bats, hockey sticks etc that can be used as weapons and be lethal? A very strong punishment for a six year old caught with it in his pocket, not open, not threatening anyone, not carving, and poking anything. On the same note, a 17 year old Eagle Scout, who attended Army basic this last summer, is suspended for 20 days for having a 2 inch pocket knife locked in his car. This on his record may keep him from going to West Point. Again, his school has zero tolerance for weapons on school grounds. He kept the pocket knife, food and other items in his car to be prepared for an emergency, like a good Eagle Scout should. Like the six year old, he was not threatening anyone, did not even have it on him, it was locked in his car. Of course like guns, you have to watch them, guns will jump up off of tables etc and shoot people, and knives will lunge off tables and slash people.

The White House is now fighting Fox News, it seems the White House cannot stand criticism. They are upset because Fox does not schmoose up to them like ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and MSNBC. They are upset because the opinion shows like Hannity, Beck and others point out discrepancies and show video of what they say. They say Fox says things that are not true, but do not sight in detail the lie, probably because it is not a lie. It would seem if they want to fight someone, maybe they should put more effort into fighting the Taliban and Al Queda.

Last but not least, the Health Care Bill. The Democrats are dead set on passing this. I think it is interesting that President Obama calls this version passed by the Senate Finance Committee bipartisan because one republican Senator Snowe voted for it, ha! One republican votes for it and it is now bipartisan. This is a bad deal for America, please watch and listen to what they propose on the floor of the Senate, when they combine the different versions you can bet there will be taxes and higher costs. They are still not addressing TORT reform which will save money, we need no caps on coverage, no pre-existing conditions, interstate purchases of insurance. We do not need more agencies trying to govern us!!! Think about this, the President said the other day we should not worry about a law that mandates everyone buy health insurance, after all, if you own a care you are required to buy car insurance. Well the last I checked, we have the option to buy a car, not everyone owns a car, so if you do not own a car, you do not purchase car insurance. So how does that apply to health insurance, can we op not to be a person? Think about it! Maybe everyone should be forced to buy car insurance even if you don’t own a car, bet that would bring car insurance down.

SLIPPERY SLOPE

Well quite an end to the week, turn on the news and all you see is CNN, MSNBC and the other major news shows slobbering over President Obama, newest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. I am sorry what a joke!!! The nomination deadline for this year was February 1st. He had just been inaugurated, what had he done in the first two weeks of his presidency to deserve this award? How can anyone take Nobel Prizes seriously after this. I wonder if I could get one next year? He should decline it!!

Let’s see what has he done in nine months, increased the debt to an unmanageable amount, trying to push terrible version of Health Care through, assigning Czars to run the country with no congressional vetting or over site, letting Iran pursue the bomb, hoping to talk them out of it while giving them time to continue its development. He has been touring around the world apologizing to everyone how terrible the USA is, that we are not a Christian Nation, bowing to Saudi King, pushing the Cap & Trade bill that will raise energy costs to all Americans. I could go on and on!

Today, it is hard to find but Thursday the Congress voted on the Military Funding bill for 2010, which I would normally think was great, but they attached the Hate Crime Bill to it! So they are sneaking it in! Rep Mica did not vote for it. That tells you the majority of the country is against it, or else they could vote on it by itself. The Democrats continue to push a far left radical agenda!!!! Hate Crime bills are nothing but a way to try to protect and push radical sexually oriented agendas. We have plenty of laws to punish those who commit crimes. Take the Matthew Shepherd case which they rely on as proof there needs to be Hate Crime Bill. A person killed Matthew Shepherd for being homosexual, he was caught, tried and convicted of felony murder. He received 2 life sentences. So it looks like the system worked to me. With the knowledge of possible life sentence or execution, that did not stop the man who killed Matthew, so is one more felony law going to change things, I think not. The Hate Crime bills are another way to over come the 1st amendment and limit any criticism of life styles etc. They will not include pastors, clergy etc in these bills, does that tell you anything? We need to keep pounding our elected officials not to vote for this bill!! I know they received over 700,000 letters telling them not to, are they listening, no, we need to throw the bums out!!!!!

Watch out on the Health Care bill coming out. I see today that by 2019 25 million will not be insured, this is out by the CBO, when Reid gets through combining the two bills, and Polosi gets involved, we will be back were we where, the start of one payer health care run by the government, for the government. The CBO says they cannot really say their cost estimates are accurate because what the Senate Finance Committee is voting on is not legislative language, just broad terms, so we really do not have a bill coming out of the committee. They are not looking at real reform, we need TORT reform, ability to buy insurance in any state, keep out the illegal aliens and do not give them amnesty, no pre-existing conditions and no caps on care.

In the last 9 months we are seeing the take over of our country, banks bailed out and bought by the government, car makers bought and owned by the government, CEO forced to resign by the president, the proposed health care take over, Cap and Trade poised for a vote, that would raise our energy costs all based on the Global Warming myth, the White House playing Santa making a list but not of good children, but those who email or post anything negative about the president and his policies and wanting the people to rat on them. I suggest, it appears that we are headed down a slippery slope, watch out before it is too late to put the brakes on, we are losing our liberties, rights, think about it.

SHROUD OF TURIN

The Shroud of Turin has been around for hundreds if not thousands of years. It has been controversial for many years. If you are not familiar with it, you should Google it and read about it. A quick summary, it is believed by many to be the burial cloth of Jesus. It appears to be a negative image on a cloth showing the front and back of a man, with injuries and blood spots similar to what Jesus would have had being crucified. Experts have studied the image and it is also a three dimensional image. It would be pristine if it had not been in a church fire many years ago. There was some damage to the shroud then and patches were applied to the cloth and it has some burn marks.

Part of the mystery is that the image is a negative one, like you get when you take a picture with film, the film is a negative image. So if you look at the shroud as that you can easily see the image. The thought is that while Jesus was in the tomb and rose from the dead, his image was burned or applied to the cloth.

Now some Italian scientist has claimed he has found a way to reproduce the shroud. He put a cloth over a volunteer, rubbed some substance on the cloth and baked it. Now, if this is a fake which many others believe it is, this was created back in the 13th or so century. They have done carbon dating on the cloth, supposedly dating it to the 13th, 14th century. I have read that carbon dating is not exact and depending on who performs it can give a wide variety of results. Now, if this is fake, if there was a way to do this back then, would not there be other shrouds of famous people like Popes, or Kings? Would there have been one person or a small group that said, let’s make a shroud in the likeness of Jesus and claim it is his burial cloth. How long would it have taken to do back then what this scientist claims he has done? Would you really be able to keep it a secret back then?

I am not sure if the shroud is real, I think there should be more tests. It is certainly very unique and unusual. The keepers of the shroud are very protective of the shroud and do not want it damaged for testing. It seems like scientists work more to prove biblical things wrong than prove them right. The headlines the news media are putting out all but makes one think this is proving the shroud is fake, that it is a done deal. Many people only read the headlines so they will get the wrong impression.

Is the shroud real? No one may really know until you can ask the maker someday in heaven, then again, will it really matter when you either stand before Jesus and worship him as your savior and you know you will spend eternity there or after getting judgment from God find yourself in fire and brimstone?

AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Greetings everyone, my blood is starting to boil! I cannot believe what is going on back in our country. McClatchy Newspaper is reporting that the Obama Administration is disapproving money for 26 elderly members of the World War II-era Alaska Territorial Guard. These people served during WWII without pay or benefits guarding our nation in the waters around Alaska. The Senate is considering a military spending bill that would keep the payments going to these patriots. What is the Obama Administration thinking? How can he say he is so supportive of the military personnel and do this. This is not even a drop in the bucket for the military budget, they blow more money in 5 seconds than these patriots will ever get! Please write your senators and tell them to make sure these patriot’s pensions are included in the military spending bill.
As every year there will be a Capital Christmas tree but guess what, this year the the U.S. Forest Service has banned the name of Jesus from decorations being assembled by children in Arizona for a blue spruce from the state that will become the Capitol Christmas Tree this year. How do you have a Christmas tree that cannot have a Christian theme? Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, I realize it is probably not the exact date he was born, we will probably never know that date, but that is when we celebrate his birth. This is a nation founded on Christian morals, values, principles and faith, we have many people from other countries and religions, but that is who the U.S.A. is, and we do not need to apologize to anyone for that or take our history and heritage out of the country.

There is a woman from Guam, she was living with a Soldier, is pregnant with his child, he was deployed, they married while he was deployed, a wedding by internet, so they had a ceremony and paperwork done, but have not been together since the wedding, not consummated. He was killed in the line of duty, since the wedding was not consummated, she is carrying his child, she will be denied to stay in the US and will be deported. Now how stupid is this, there are illegal aliens in this country, working, getting American citizen benefits, and the administration does not want them bothered, or sent home and here is a couple trying to make a life, he gives his life for his country and since they did not consummate their marriage she gets deported. If they are going to deport her, following the law, then send all these illegal aliens home!!!!!!!

Rep Wilson stated out loud during the President’s speech he lied, I don’t think that was the best thing to do. But it is turning out to be true. There are reports in the news that the Senate has voted down amendments to the Health Care Bill to require people to get coverage to show picture ID, specific language to keep federal funds from paying for abortion. So it is clear, the Democrats do not want anything in the bill that will prevent creative illegal aliens from getting health care. There are Democrats that say illegal aliens should be able to buy health care, if they buy federally subsidized health care that is still tax dollars paying for their care. Also, how can you require everyone to buy health insurance? President Obama compared it to care insurance, that if you own and drive a car you are required to buy car insurance, that sounds fine at first, but then when you realize, you do not have to own a car, not everyone owns a car, and if you do not own a car, you do not have to buy car insurance. The government wants to require everyone to purchase health insurance, is this constitutional? Some are saying no. Think about it. And I am not even starting about how much the president has been on TV, running around the country and world, I bet if someone did a study, he has been out of DC more than he has been in!
AAGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! See why I am so frustrated, disappointed and angry! Please write your Congressmen and Senators about these issues. They need to be held accountable!!!! HEALTHCARE

Now don't get me wrong, we need to fix some things with healthcare. I feel a 1000 page bill, adding a bunch of Federal Agencies is not what we need. I have been voicing my concerns to our Senators and Congressman, I have not heard back from our new Senator, he is probably pretty busy trying to get settled in. Honorable Mica is very much on board with my views about what needs to change. Honorable Nelson on the other hand seems to want to tow the Democrats line and add to our debt, and create a huge mess. Below you will see my original email to him, his response and my response back. The Democrats do not want us reading the bill, they voted not to give the public and members of the Senate 72 hours to view it before voting. There can be major reform to our healthcare system without creating a huge government bureaucracy that will end up costing more than they say and mess up our level of care. The Honorable Nelson is ours in Florida, I encourage you readers from other states, write your Senators and Congressmen and give them your concerns and get their intentions, hold them to the fire. We elect them, they work for us!!! Medicare and Medicaid are a mess, the way the bureaucrats want to fix fraud is just cut payments, this cuts care to the patients! If we let them do this so fast right now, do you really think it will do any better? Remember the words of President Regan, the scariest words to hear are, “ I am from the government, I am here to help”.

Below you will find my email to you and your response to my email. With all due respect sir, you did address some of my concerns but left out some important ones, like TORT reform, Texas has done that, lowered costs about 30%. You did not address keeping earmarks out of the bill. If this is so good, you do not need to buy votes! You did not address illegal aliens and amnesty, this is a large number of people that will add tremendous costs and as important they are breaking the law being here. All you are doing is repeating the general vague aspects of this terrible bill. Yes you are partially right, the current bill will not make those with their own health insurance change, but with a "public option" or whatever the new name this week is to fool us, there is a very good chance that down the road private insurance will go away because of lower cost and incentives to move to the government policy. Even President Obama says in his own words he really wants a one payer health system and many congressmen and senators say it also. This is the camel’s nose under the tent! You and your staff will be seeing several tens if not hundreds of thousands pink slips delivered to your office shortly, one of those is from me, I am watching your votes. I do not feel I see you representing the will of the Floridians.

I am writing in regards to the Healthcare Proposals. We do not need a 1000 page bill. There are several things that could revolutionize our healthcare in our country, they are:
Real TORT Reform
No pre-existing conditions
No cap on coverage
Country wide policies, not state only
Negotiate drug prices on all Federal and State Healthcare policies esp Medicare/Medicaid
NO coverage for illegal aliens and NO amnesty for them
These changes will make a tremendous difference, and lower costs! It will not take 1000 pages to do this. IF THE BILL DOES NOT CONTAIN THESE ITEMS AND HAS ANY PORK, EARMARKS, DO NOT VOTE FOR IT. We do not need and cannot afford to expand government with more agencies and employees! Stop the out of control spending. AGAIN, DO NOT VOTE FOR THE BILL IF IT DOES NOT CONTAIN THE ABOVE ITEMS AND IF IT CONTAINS PORK/EARMARKS OR ADDS AGENCIES TO OUR ALREADY BLOATED GOVERNMENT.

Thank you for contacting me about health care reform. In his recent speech to Congress, President Obama also provided us with a clearer view of his desires for health care reform.
What the President described is pretty close to the draft of a bill I'm helping prepare as a member of the Senate Finance Committee. This legislation will let folks who are happy with their insurance keep what they’ve got, including veterans and seniors on Medicare. It will also create State-based exchanges – a nationwide marketplace – where those without coverage, or those who are unhappy with what they have, can get it at an affordable price.
The bill will hold insurers' feet to the fire, requiring them to cover everyone and preventing them from dropping someone who gets sick. Additionally, it contains several measures aimed at reducing overall medical and prescription drug costs and eliminating waste and fraud in the system.
I plan on improving the bill through amendments that will, among other things, help pay for reform of our health care system. One of my amendments would require drugmakers to provide rebates to Medicare, just like they do for Medicaid. This would save Medicare a ton of money and help reduce out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for many seniors.
Regardless of where anyone stands on the specifics, I think we all can agree that the system we have can be unfair and too costly, and needs to be fixed. I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue. Please don't hesitate to contact me in the future.

INTRODUCTON

Greetings and salutations. This is the first posting on my blog. I thought I would write about who I am and what I believe. This will give you an indication of where I am coming from with future posts. I hope you will come back and read my posts.

I was born and raised in El Dorado Kansas; I spent the first 35 years of my life there and an additional 7 from 1998 to 2005. The other years I spent in Central and South Florida.
I worked for my father at his truck stop during high school as a pump jockey, and then joined him full time after I graduated. I worked for him for 13 years managing two truck stops, a wrecker service in El Dorado, and two restaurants. During that time our wrecker service was the heavy rescue for the county and when someone was trapped in a vehicle we took two wreckers, pulled the car apart and the ambulance personnel got them out. My father had done this for many years. I became friends with Joe Moreland, found out by hanging out at the ambulance service there was a better way to get people out of a wrecked vehicle. I went to EMT school and was certified in 1975, organized EMS was still pretty new in Kansas then. December of that year I helped organize the Butler County Volunteer Rescue Squad. With dad’s monetary support, and giving of my time from work, the squad was formed with 10 volunteers, firemen, EMTs, policemen and a couple civilians. The rescue squad responded to any victim trapped, we mainly responded to motor vehicle crashes, we also worked drownings, industrial accidents, and even cattle and horse accidents where they were trapped in trailers. We developed an extrication class that was taught state wide and even in Colorado. The rescue squad is still in existence, volunteer and completely county funded. They have a beautiful truck purchased by the county and have a boat and water rescue equipment.

My father never went past middle school, but had a good business sense. The two truck stops did well, we made it through the Carter years but then the high interest rates caught up with us and our bank had trouble and we lost the truck stops in 1985. I had taken basic accounting classes at Butler County Community College and other than that I learned to run a business from my dad.

When we lost the truck stop, I had to work, I was married and we were expecting our first child. So I worked full time for Butler County EMS. I knew I could not support our family as an EMT; I needed to get a better job. Joe Moreland was working for Butler County EMS as a paramedic and finishing nursing school at the time. We talked during shift one night and I decided to go to nursing school. I enrolled in Butler County Community College and started working on nursing. I graduated in 1988 and started working in the emergency department at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita Kansas. I have been in emergency nursing ever since.

I have worked in large city emergency departments, trauma centers, small rural emergency departments. I have been director of three emergency departments since 1998. I have spent the first 10 months of my deployment to Iraq as an Army Nurse as head nurse of the emergency department of a combat support hospital and the last 5 months as night supervisor of the hospital.

I have been to Honduras, Panama, Suriname, Germany, and Iraq. I have seen how they live and challenges that they have. Helping to reaffirm how great a country I live in.

Since starting to work for my dad, I have had a wide variety of experiences that have shaped me, I have been serving the public either in sales as in the truck stops or health care. I have seen the best of people and the worst. I have treated people with burns, multiple injuries, minor injuries, colds, heart attacks, watched people of all ages pass away, I have saved lives, consoled love ones, I have provided care to death row inmates, Iraqi detainees, Iraqi insurgents, American Heroes injured in battle, and had a member of my unit die from a rocket attack. I have watched my three daughters being born, helped my wonderful wife homeschool them K through 12 and watched two of them graduate from college with our youngest still in college. I watched my father lose a business he built for 25 years, pick himself up and move on, only to die of lung cancer a few short years later, my mother died of natural causes in her sleep.
I gave my life to Christ in 1979, changed my life forever. Kind of lost my way until I married my best friend Robyn in 1982. We rededicated our lives to Christ at a Basic Seminar in Wichita and have never looked back.

In 1982 I married my best friend Robyn. We have been married 27 years, we have a covenant marriage, unbreakable, she completes me, every day I am more in love with her. We have three beautiful daughters, Randi graduated as a paramedic in May and works in Volusia County, RaDonna graduated nursing in May and is working at Florida Hospital Flagler in the Emergency Department, Rachel is going to Daytona Beach State College, taking basic classes. God has richly blessed me with a wonderful family.
My beliefs:

• Jesus is the only son of God and is the only way to him.
• He died for my sins on the cross, it is a gift to anyone, you cannot earn salvation.
  Once saved always saved.
• The Bible is the inspired word of God and is infallible.
• The Bible is as relevant today as when written thousands of years ago.
• Our earth is only 6000 or so years old, the scientist do not know what is really trending with our climate, they do not have enough accurate history, Cap and Trade is a Power Grab.
• Genesis is a true account of creation, life did not spontaneously appear in some unknown pool of unknown chemicals on some unknown beach millions of years ago, and all life was created by a loving God.
• Homosexuality is wrong, and not to be a protected status or promoted as normal.
  The United States was founded on Christian values, principals, and morals. As the founding fathers said, the new country will work as long as we follow our foundation, we can see how we have not and what it is causing today.
• I am registered as a republican, but mainly I am a conservative, I vote for the man, not the party, but in the recent years have not been able to vote for a democrat due to their views on core issues.
• I strongly believe in the 1st amendment, there is no separation of church and state, that has been made up by non-believers. The founding fathers meant that the government would not make a national church like England. If the founding fathers really wanted church out of the government, why did congress buy Bibles with federal funds and distribute them? Why would they state that teaching the Bible is core teaching in early public schools?
• I strongly believe in the 2nd amendment. Every citizen has the right to keep and bear arms, unless you are mentally ill, a convicted criminal. This means rifles, shotguns, semi- automatic rifles and handguns, pistols. We have the right to protect ourselves, families and anyone we come across in distress. I have a concealed weapons permit and if it comes to it will protect myself and family, I hope that never happens. My entire family shoots and owns firearms; three of us have concealed weapons permits. Contrary to the main stream news media, people that have concealed weapons permits are not dangerous, do not increase violence/crime, and actually decrease crime. If you are a criminal, then I guess you would consider them dangerous.
• I believe the government is too big, spending too much money and is out of control. I believe the founding fathers meant for business men to run for office, go for a term or two and go back home and work. Our government was not meant for career politicians, lawyers spending all their years in office never knowing how to run a business. We have lawyers and political science majors with 20, 30, 40 years in office, most in congress only care about being re-elected, not serving the people they represent.
• I listen to and read Fox News, Sean Hannity, Glen Beck, Dick Morris, Bridget Gabrielle, Chuck Norris, Ann Coulter, Barbra Simpson, and Charlie Daniels. I watch CNN and MSNBC for short periods, very short. I read books on current issues and of course the Bible. I research what these people say and confirm what they say.
• I believe Islam is not a peaceful religion and their true followers are trying to take over the world and the non believer has three choices, convert to Islam, be subservient and pay tax, or die. They are trying to take over our country with their Sharia law. I believe we are giving them rights and privileges that we as Christians and Jews do not get.
  In 1987 I joined the Navy Reserve and two years later joined the Army Reserve Nurse Corps, I have taken an oath to protect and preserve our country and constitution. I do this voluntarily, humbly, and proudly! I believe in a strong defense and you can only talk so long and you have to act. We are letting North Korea and Iran run all over us developing nuclear weapons.
• I believe Israel is our friend and we should continue to support them, the current administration is working to throw them under the bus!
